Austin Strong

Austin is a Certified Public Accountant and received his Bachelor of Arts and Master’s degrees in Accounting from Weber State University. Prior to joining TAB Bank, he worked with Ernst & Young in their assurance practice supporting both public and private businesses in the banking, automotive, real estate, entertainment, and insurance industries. Austin became a Vice President of Real Estate Banking at Zions Bank and managed a real estate portfolio consisting of office, retail, hospitality, and senior housing product types. Austin then spent several years as the Director of Internal Audit at TAB, working with the Bank’s Audit Committee and Board of Directors to oversee the independent evaluation of TAB’s risk and control framework.

As Chief Executive Officer, Austin executes TAB’s strategic vision through the identification of growth and investment opportunities and collaboration with fintech partners to further drive innovation in banking. Austin also oversees and guides the bank’s digital banking operations, IT, data analytics / business intelligence, customer experience, marketing, accounting, human resources, and strategic partnerships.

Tyler Heap

Tyler has spent his career analyzing businesses from both an owner’s and lender’s perspective. His love for small business and the entrepreneur budded as he co-founded a business in college which paid for his education and resulted in the sale of the company shortly after graduation. Tyler worked for a manufacturer and distributor of sporting goods after graduating from college, where he managed the company’s finances and investor relationships. His banking career includes vast experience in relationship, portfolio, distressed loan, and underwriting management.

In his role as President, Tyler is responsible for leading the lending, credit, commercial real estate, and operations teams in conjunction with managing overall credit quality at TAB Bank. He received a double Bachelor of Finance and Economics from Utah State University. Over the years he has been an active participant in the International Factoring Association, Commercial Finance Association, Utah Bankers Association, and the Pacific Coast Banking School. Tyler is also an active member of his community through volunteering and donating to local charities, schools, and special cause groups.

Boyd Hunter

Boyd is a Certified Public Accountant and received his Bachelor of Arts and Master’s degrees in Accounting from Utah State University. Prior to joining TAB Bank, he worked for eight years with Ernst &Young in that firm’s financial audit division and later became the Manager of the Salt Lake City Technology and Security Risk Services (TSRS) practice for Ernst & Young. He is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin –Madison where he also achieved the Executive Leadership Certificate from the Wisconsin School of Business.

Boyd has taught upper-level accounting and information systems courses at Utah State University. As CFO of TAB Bank, he participates in the strategic functions of the bank as well as oversees and directs all operations and personnel related to accounting, finance, and enterprise risk management. Boyd is active with several charity organizations including many community groups and local schools.

Michael Palmer

As TAB Bank’s Chief Operating Officer, Mike oversees the operational and customer support teams that assist TAB’s clients with their deposit relationships with the bank. Additionally, his teams securely process all the bank’s electronic funds transfers, apply for invoice specific payments across the factoring portfolio, and process thousands of lockbox and other checks per week.

Mike is a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager. Prior to his experience at TAB Bank, he spent 13 years at Wells Fargo, the last ten being spent in regulatory compliance roles focusing on international BSA/AML compliance as well as mortgage and consumer lending regulations. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degrees in Finance and Marketing from Utah State University and a Master of Business Administration from Brigham Young University. He is a graduate from the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin –Madison where he completed courses necessary to achieve the Executive Leadership Certificate from the Wisconsin School of Business.

Terri Lins

Terri is a Certified Public Accountant and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Austin College and her MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. She brings over three decades of experience to her role as Chief Credit Officer at TAB Bank. She has been instrumental in shaping and implementing credit policies, ensuring sound credit decisions and contributing to the overall mission and success of TAB. In her current role, she leverages her credit analysis and risk management expertise to drive strategic initiatives and enhance the credit portfolio.

Before joining TAB Bank, Terri served as the Director of Syndicated Asset-Based Lending at Washington Mutual. Specifically, through white paper, Terri and her partner started a buy-side ABL desk that grew from zero to $500 million in under 5 years. During this time, she managed business development, underwriting and portfolio management responsibilities and structured complex asset-based financing deals.

As Chief Credit Officer, Terri is responsible for leading the underwriting, special assets, and equipment teams in conjunction with managing overall credit quality at TAB Bank. Beyond her professional responsibilities and commitments, she is actively involved in community service and volunteer work.

Tami Fisher

Tami Fisher started her career in Retail Banking, working in the First Security Bank and Washington Mutual Bank branch network until joining Zions Bancorporation in 2006. The transition to Zions allowed her to experience payment processing and back-office operations for bank and treasury operations. Recognizing a deep interest in strategic planning and governance, Fisher engaged in organizational transformation and continuous process and performance improvement initiatives, spearheading an enterprise project management shared services function that integrated strategic planning, prioritization, and resource/capacity planning. Fisher continued her transformation work by developing a “workforce of the future” framework, which cultivated an engagement and accountability culture with education, experience, and exposure opportunities for Zions largest division, Enterprise Technology and Operations.

Most recently, Fisher served as Zions’ Director of Technology Strategy and Governance where she steered the design and execution of a 3-year technology transformation strategy. Additionally, she implemented robust training programs to elevate technology core competencies while leading efforts to improve risk and control activities.

Outside of her corporate duties, Fisher serves on the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross Greater Salt Lake Area Chapter. She also chairs her children’s school council supporting strong connections between educators and parents. Fisher is actively engaged in the Utah Women in Technology community where she provides mentoring and coaching to local women as they navigate their career journeys.

Fisher holds a Business Administration bachelor’s degree from Westminster University.

Ben Kotter

Ben received his Juris Doctorate in 2002 from the S.J. Quinney School of Law at the University of Utah. Prior to joining TAB Bank, Ben built a successful legal practice and was elected a shareholder at Ray, Quinney & Nebeker, P.C., and subsequently a partner at Dorsey & Whitney LLP. Ben’s legal practice focused on representing banks, financial institutions, and other traditional and non-traditional lenders in a wide variety of matters ranging from origination through work out.

As General Counsel for TAB Bank and its parent, TAB Bank Holdings, Inc., Ben oversees and is responsible for all legal matters at TAB Bank. He manages outside counsel throughout the United States in addition to the legal department at TAB Bank. In addition to managing legal issues, Ben also oversees regulatory compliance matters, TAB Bank’s Community Reinvestment Act efforts and is the Corporate Secretary. He is active on several Utah State Bar Committees as well as another local community improvement, civic, and charitable organizations.

Justin Hatch

Justin received his MBA from the University of Phoenix and brings over 25 years of experience to his role as Chief Lending Officer at TAB Bank. Prior to being named Chief Lending Officer, Justin served as SVP of Commercial Lending overseeing all business development and operations efforts in the East Region for TAB’s ABL and A/R Financing clients in addition to providing direction and oversight for the Bank’s Lender Finance products and offerings including rediscount lines of credit, participations, and syndications. Justin has been instrumental in growing these portfolios and taking TAB’s smartly engineered financial solutions to many small and mediums-sized business clients.

Prior to joining TAB Bank, Justin served as CFO of Flying J Insurance Services where he managed all finance and accounting operations and worked closely with trucking clients and fleets to meet and fulfill their insurance needs.

As Chief Lending Officer, Justin is responsible for all business development and operations activities nationwide for the Bank’s lending products of ABL, A/R Finance, Equipment Finance, SMB Term Loans, and CRE.
